It's hard to discuss iMPACT without spoilers because of how it's taped (in fact I've still gotta watch the most recent, which I think is the start of these "Redemption" tapings right)?
Eli Drake (dummy, yeah!) has been champ for almost five months now. Has he moved the meter at all? Take him or leave him, what's your take? I'm a fan myself.
What's next for Moose? He just went over the top guy in the company clean, and Lashley is on his way out. Do we hotshot Moose like Goldberg, like, where else do you go after winning a feud with the top guy, if not the world title?

I wasn't aware Eli Drake was the champ And for the past months at that.
Kinda sad when you hear more about who is the NWA champion (and I still don't care who that is TBH) than who is the TNA champ.

You know what bugs me about TNA when I do tune in and watch it.
It's the look and the fake crowd noise.
First the "Cheers and Boos" You hear cheers, (or boos) but you see no one reacting to anything that is going on in the ring in the background. They are asleep for the most part. You watch WWE/Roh and look at the stands you can see the people in the crowd interacting with what is going on in the ring. You can tell that they are engaged to a point. The reaction you hear is real. You watch TNA and the fans in the "Impact Zone" just don't react to anything that is going on. You hear the cheers, boos and look out into the stands and it's blank stares. Their not even talk to one another. There is nothing going on. It just sounds fake.
And the Look. You watch WWE/NXT and you know that the company has money with the set and what not. You watch ROH and, it's the upper crust of the indies in that they have a little bit of money to put into the product. It still looks raw, dirty and beat up but you know they are not trying to be like the WWE.
You tune into TNA. They have a set that looks a notch above ROH, maybe on par with NXT. You know that they think they are competing against the WWE and want that polished pro look. But when they come out for the matches, that is when you realize that they don't have enough room at ring side. Their rings takes up a ton of room, and they can't do much outside of the ring, and they have the announce table slammed in there, up on a perch and it looks crammed. I also think there is no seats on the camera side, maybe there is but it looks like there isn't. I kinda wish they would take those shows on the road, get away from the impact zone and strip that set down. I would think they would do better with a set that feels like ROH's. Get away from the polished look and drop the fake crowd reactions.

Go watch the most recent, I feel like they have something close to what you're looking for in their set, at least with the move back to four sides. I think you're right in that the six sided ring took up more space than should have, although I actually like the announce table up by the stage. It keeps the focus off the announcers and on the ring. But the zombies in the iMPACT zone just don't cut it.
Personally, I wish they'd go back to the Manhattan Center like those years ago during their run on Destination America, buuuttt idk the financials. Iirc that is an expensive venue to run.

How about we lower the bar some. I'm sure there is other places in NYC they can hold a show. TNA just needs to hit the road more and stop taping stuff soooo far out.

I go through a lot of hoops to spoiler dodge, but when you tape 3 months of content or more at once, you're asking a lot for people to stay surprised. I get it though, it's much more cost effective to tape in bulk rather than live shows. Likewise going on the road is very expensive too.

I like how the Impact Global Championship is still the GFW belt with a big sticker slapped over it.
This company from a managerial side was a complete fucking shitshow for the entire duration of 2017. Impressive really.

I've even gotten used to the plate lol. Seriously, I'm glad they've at least got this together now. The Jarrett regime was an unmitigated disaster, and I'm glad they've gone a complete 180 from that thing.

Waiting for new episodes to air on GWN is a pain (2 weeks for this Lashley vs Cage episode), but I am enjoying more what we're seeing. I like that the product is finally feeling different to the WWE product. Some notes;
< Sami Callihan messed up with Eddie Edwards but I'm happy they're running it as intended. Its old school heat, maybe a bit carny, but like...why not? I'm sure Sami didn't do it deliberately because that'd be awful, but if he did then screw him, fire him, don't invite him back, whatever.
< I can't be sad for EC3's departure. He's making big money, he's around his friends, more power to him. He was a true professional to the very end though, sold it all until it aired, gave us some memorable promos. I do miss him though, that was the real iMPACT player.
< I'm happy to see Allie/Cherry Bomb get her moment, one of the best indy gems to date. And a natural babyface. How can you not cheer for her?
< KM. This guy is great, we should be seeing more of wrestling's Biff Tannen. He's a national treasure haha.
< Josh Mathews is a spirit guide...? I don't even know what to say on this. That happened. Josh is....yeah. -_-
Anyway, I'm loving the rebuilding process. We lost some guys, but we're gaining more new guys. And the company actually builds stars! It's wrestling as it was intended - unpredictability and uncertainty to the next move.

New belts look great. It was overdue, the "Impact" stickers were embarrassing. Although the OG TNA Tag Titles were some of the best looking belts in wrestling.

That is not the first time I've seen that opinion (Pendragon says the same all the time), but I don't understand why that is the case lol. I love these new tag belts though.

Good for them. Can't hurt being shown in Mexico right?
Didn't they just add Omega too?

Yeah, working around that grueling Impact TV and live event (lol) schedule would be murder to figure out.
In all seriousness thou. Would having Omega showing up with the IPGW belt on Impact, being shown in Mexico really be bad for business?
AA was on roh tv with the tna world title 3-4 weeks ago. Im thinking that wasnt a bad thing for Impact.....

I was saying more than Omega is locked into a written deal with NJPW and I doubt they'd sign off on this. Stranger things have happened though.

m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1921001284586746&id=1143583062328576Any guesses? Maybe a return by Roxxi? Eh, I'm not convinced of that. A lot of speculation about Shotzi Blackheart, surprisingly enough but I think I saw a glimpse of blonde and I'm not sure she'd dye her hair for this (her green hair is a signature). Who do you think? And if you read spoilers, please don't reply.

Watching impact, this week's (1st post Slamm show) flashback is MCMG vs Generation Me. And every time I see Sabin, I keep calling him Jerry McClean.
Think only two of you will get that.

So, who all watched Rebellion? If you haven't, you might steer clear of my twitter feed until you do. Kinda got away from myself there >_> {IMPACT Rebellion Results]- Ace Austin wins a six man FFA involving Petey Williams and Eddie Edwards, among others. - Scarlett def the young Desi (s)hit Squad guy. They drew decent heat, but only against Scarlett. Clearly they get heat by cockblocking everyone's view of the Smokeshow lol. - Taya Valkyrie def Jordynne Grace in a bit of an obvious match. Kinda was just there, didn't do a lot for me. Not bad, but not impressed either. - Rich Swann retains the X-Division title over Sami Callihan in a very clutch match. Standard oVe fare but it was some great shit. Pretty sure this feud isn't done. - Tessa Blanchard def Gail Kim (of course she does) in a very emotional, classic wrestling match. Finish was on point, match was masterclass. - Brian Cage finally def Johnny iMPACT! for the world title (we all knew it was coming) but the bigger shocker... - Big Mike Elgin makes hiss iMPACT! debut, laying out Cage and setting the challenge. I'm hearing it should be a part time deal as he's headed to AEW (please please please). I don't have a lot of knowledge on him so my opinion is open, but I like my current iMPACT! crop. Would have rather seen Cage's next opponent be Killer Kross or that dang #mooseontheloose - LAX def Lucha Bros in the main event to become 4x tag champs, which seems to be Lucha Bros farewell as they are exclusive to AEW in the US. Having learned that, I now see why the show ended the way it did.

Elgin is cool, mostly because he hasn't been state side in.....4 years now? Even if it's part time, still a big deal for them.

So we're not going to talk about the lastest Impact news?
The move to AXS?
The parent company looking to buy out ROH and merge the two?
Here, Saturday night is going to be full of wrestling with Impact, WOW and NJPW all on AXS starting at like 8 PM. 4 hours of fun right there.
IDK how I feel about the ROH stuff. I haven't been watching.....

Yes, the AXS news is confirmed, and will start airing there after Bound For Glory, on October 20th! The simulcast on Twitch will continue during this time.
I do not believe ROH and iMPACT! are looking to merge, so much as a working relationship. Which, notably, gives iMPACT! a foot in the door closer to NJPW. So that's exciting.

From what I've seen and heard, it's more of Impact's parent company that is looking to buy ROH, impact the company has like nothing to do with this. The parent co. Would cherry pick the roh guys and slide them into Impact.
Plus, maybe, this gets Impact on more tv's with roh's current time slots? Roh is on a ton of spots, and i would rather see a 1 hour impact show than a 2 hour one TBH.
