Really, I just want a place to talk about NXT and AEW without having to jump around two threads.
Thoughts? NXT +Wrestling heavy, which is good. Helps keep it distinct from RAW/SD, just focus on putting on quality. +They really want to promote it as a third brand, case in point Balor. +Two hours if working well so far, but they need to do something about matches with no heat. -Travel out of Full Sail - that audience for two hours a week is going to kill the show -UE can't / shouldn't no "cool heels" cut that shit out, or just make them faces. -Not sure how I feel about the CW title getting re-branded to NXT, especially when being under 205 is the norm in NXT rather than the exception. The belt doesn't need to exist within the bubble of NXT.
AEW +Glad Mox is back +Based Bellator Jackie Boy is back in the ring +Right person won the woman's title (an actual woman) -Audrey is insufferable -Production needs work
I think AEW "won" last night, but it was by virtue of being the big new thing. If they keep up the steam then WWE really needs to look at NXT and change some things up.

Yeah, AEW "won" last night on principle of being the new thing on the block. Surprised there was a cheerful reception toward Nyla Rose. I know it's her hometown but she didn't do herself any favors last week on twitter. I'm just gonna call this one as I see it and say that the Judas Effect, it looks like shit.

It didn't have anything behind it. If it was played as a joke like Cena's Sixth Move of Doom, I'm fine with that.

I was watching my beloved Oakland A's lose yet again in the post season. While some fans hope they can see their team win a world series before they die, I would be happy with just 1 fucking win in the post season.... It's like I wasted my whole summer following this team.....
So I'll watch both NXT and AEW this weekend. Not working this weekend so I'll get them both in and see how they were. Stay tuned for a thoughts and feelings.....

My thoughts, watching AEW ad a neutral party;
"Wow, so AEW is just ROH with a much larger budget."
Like, I won't turn it off, but it's not drawing me in. And it certainly isn't gonna pull me from iMPACT.

Just got down with AEW....
the bad: -Way too much love for the ref Audrey. -You dont cut to commercials when ur champ is beating the shit out of someone. ROH, IMPACT, WWE wouldn't so this. -Stage and screens looked dated -Ring set is a poor mans NXT set. -Too many no name guys for 1st show -Too few storylines, show was filled with random matches. -Main Event was stupid and pointless. -12 year old girl is you womens champion, and belt looks tiny
The good -Page v Pac -JR and Tony, no need for the other guy. -The production is way better than previous shows. -Mox and Kenny picking up from mox injury. It is a match everyone wants to see.
That's all i got for the good. I do believe as time goes on, this being recorded will be it's downfall. The spoilers will get out where NXT is live and thus spoiler free. They also meed more stars, or build more stars. NXT has a better roster.

If those 2 are the best they got, they got issues. FWIW, I thought NXT was the better show, but just barely.

AEW's women's division is sorely lacking. Most Joshi are better, even some of WWE's greener girls are better, and they're miles behind Impact, which has always had a strong female division. And yes, even when Eric Young as a Knockout's Tag Champ. I'm fine with a man holding a woman's belt if it's done with a nod and a wink. Wippleman did it. Kaufman did it. EY did it. Santino/a Marella should have done it.

I'll probably watch it in the morning after work. I'm not "into" it, but I'm not throwing it out either. They just need a hook to draw me in.

NXT is just NXT, only now two hours and live. AEW is an exciting new product so obviously people are more hooked. WWE needs to update the NXT set and travel outside of Full Sail. Inner Circle is an interesting group of guys, although didn't Cody say AEW wouldn't have 20 minute promos?

I did like how Jericho handled the We the People chants.
But, jack swagger, is not better than brock. Just saying.

...Didn't Cody say AEW wouldn't have 20 minute promos? A wrestler lying? Say it ain't so... I've got Dynamite downloading, so I'll watch it after I wake up I guess. Gonna give it another shot with all social media and buffering issues blocked out (hence why I'm DLing instead of streaming).

I watched the first hour of nxt, everytime i flipped to aew they were in commercial. Nxt seemed lifeless.
Aew is slowly reminding me of Nitro. I'm not sure if this is a good thing.
Who knew the one member of Sainty who quit the group, just might have the brightest future in Wolfe.
I got more joy watching nwa powerrrr, which i watched b4 nxt.

The problem with NXT is that it's still just NXT. It feels like less of a C-show than even WWECW was. They really need to get out of FSU and get a new set. Wolfe is great, Imperium is great and add a nice element to NXT. I would really prefer Undisupted Era vs. Imperium at War Games but they seem to be building to UE vs. Dream/Dijakovic/Lee/Ciampa

I think the problem we're seeing with WWE right now is such a massive over saturation. Just in cable shows you have 7-8hrs/week plus additional content. Nothing seems special or new. A textbook case of "less is more", but also, maybe if they did more than have guys trade wins every week, the product would feel more can't miss........
I'm not an old school guy so much, but i definitely enjoyed Powerrr more than I have WWE in the last six months.

People are really kvetching about Mox/Omega huh? It was a tame "deathmatch" and no more dangerous than a workrate showcase. Dave and Bryan are absolutely wrong on their analysis of the match, but people treating it as the most brutal thing ever have obviously never seen any of Moxly's CZW matches or a proper Japanese deathmatch. It was good, feels like it was cathartic for Dean since it was basically what he had been trying to do in WWE for years (the Lesnar match and the Ambrose Asylum). I want to go back and catch Jericho/Cody, might try to find the tag titles at some point.

I have a feeling everyone is justing wetting themselvez over whatever that company does, bending over backwards going this is so much better than the wwe!
But, man, i can't get past the look. It looks aweful to watch, plus it looks dated. Smokey, lights pointed at the cameras, and it looks amateurish and cheap.
NWA looks polished, bright, clean and has the appearance of looking professional.

I saw something on the botchamania FB page, when maffew posted a review (good and bad) about Full Gear.
These are the most smarktastic fans. They are hipsters like none other has hipstered before. They say they want this, and that, and when their indy darling company gives it to them...they shit on it and find something to bitch about on Twitter. There's no pleasing them.

Yes, there is certainly an "If AEW does it then it's good" sort of thing going on, which is why I bitch about Cody and the Bucks so much. Props to Cody for losing, I wonder if and how they'll inevitably walk back him never challenging for the title. As to the presentation, it's okay. It looks a bit shitter with modern cameras and resolution, but it feels deliberate. They want that gritty look juxtaposed to WWE's overproduced crisp look.
Powerrr looks fantastic.

It's 2019. I get that ROH looks the way it looks. They have at best? 1200 people in the stands at the top end? Impact is most likely in the same range of people showing up for TV tapings, that show looks way better than AEW's show. AEW is getting 10K to these shows. These are not small indie shows. The TV show looks like a watered down Nitro show. Put some polish on it.
