Pato’s school….
Friday night……
It’s a busy, jam packed, sold out show for some of the finest local lucha in Mexico today at Pato’s school. Nanook, Bester’s agent, manager, head of training and best buddy is sitting on the pull out bleachers that are bolted to the wall. He is on his phone and some masked guys do all sorts of flippy shit in the ring, all to a huge pop, a big as a crowd of 162 people on hand can muster. It’s bigger than normal and the reason for this big crowd, is for living legend and Mexican wrestling icon, El Maestro de spots Jose Hernandez, now in his 60’s, El Maestro is on hand for a meet and greet. Everyone is so geeked up for this. Lots of old faded El Maestro de spots tees in the crowd tonight.
But that is not why Nanook is there tonight. He’s on hand for 2 reasons.
One. Bester has a match, a tag match in the main event as he teams up with a dude named Peter Nuevo…...yup, just Peter Nuevo and the kiddies, they love Peter Nuevo. They will be facing a high octane team called Un Paquete Negro de Balas. They sound like badasses don’t they?
Two. The 4g wifi.
Nanook is thumbing his way on his phone as he hits up google, visits the Whirlwind Wrestling website to join the WW Inner Circle Fan Club. After entering in his credit card info, twice, guess who is a new member of the hottest fan club in wrestling! If you said Nanook, you would be correct!
Nanook “There we go….now you can’t stop me from getting into Threads of Disloyalty. (laughs) Fucking Joe, think you’re so smart. Just for that I hope Samantha neuters you.”
Scrolling through the site of this exclusive fan club, Nanook finds:
Tickets
Nanook “Yeah that’s what I’m talking about!”
He clicks on the link and it takes him to a new page on his phone. There he is given a option. To buy tickets for Threads of Disloyalty or to be on the super early bird list for the event following ToD. Naturally Nanook clicks on tickets for ToD.
Everyone around him, in the gym, they are fixated on the match at hand. Only Nanook is on his phone and he’s busy buying tickets for another wrestling promotion. How ironic. After a couple of seconds Nanook is on the screen where he can buy some tickets.
Nanook “Yes! Now I can get in the damn building, get Bester a try out and get him signed so I can get paid. Then I can have him take out fucking Joe and Bester can take his spot, where he should be along.”
One minute later, Nanook “buys” tickets for ToD……
Or so he thought.
Nanook “The fuck? Due to the high demand, there is going to be a lottery for tickets? What? Are you serious? I did all of this bullshit and I still might not get in?”
“Mister Nanook! Look!”
As Nanook is reading the email he just got, which informs him that the day of the show, there will be a lottery to see who can get tickets and at that time, your credit card will be charged. If you are not selected, you will be given a weighted advantaged in having your name selected for the next event, but you are not guaranteed to win tickets.
Bester has snuck out from the back during the match that is going on in to see Nanook.
Nanook looks up and there is Bester in a hoodie, wearing a white mask with a rainbow going across his forehead. You can’t see his face, or the huge smile underneath his mask, but you know he is smiling ear to ear.
Nanook “The fuck?”
Bester “Mister Nanook! Naughty word!”
Nanook “Bester? What is that?”
Bester “My mask! Tonight I will be Orgulloso Guardián Del Arcoiris!”
Nanook “The what?”
Bester “Isn’t it awesome? I’m so happy right now. I’ve got to go. We’re on after El Maestro De Spots! Take care Mister Nanook. Bye bye now!”
And like a rainbow in the night, Orgulloso Guardian Del Arcoiris is gone. Nanook still can’t believe what he just saw…..
In fact he is so flabbergasted, he has forgotten about the ticket lottery.
