Genesis Wave has already been announced as the huge re-emergence of the Whirlwind brand of sports and entertainment and what a show that's already advertised to be. On a card featuring both the return of the masked strategist Pendragon, as well as the self-professed Queen of Mean Veronica Taylor, the headline moment is the revival of the International Whirlwind Championship - that's right, Stephen Callaway once more resumes his role as the IWC!
When Callaway took the championship from the hands of Joe Jones back in July of twenty-eighteen, his reign was frozen after the ten days mark. Looking back at the lineage of the title, it's painfully clear that this championship is not an easy one to hold on to. In fact, only one individual was able to retain it during a championship reign, ironically that was Joe Jones that pulled off the feat. Now, as we come back to action, Stephen Callaway finds himself in a rather unique situation. On the one hand, if Stephen failed to defend the title, no one would bat an eye and he would be just another man that failed to keep a hold of it. But if that happened...Callaway would have the distinction of the shortest title reign ever, clocking in at just eleven days. Eleven, DAYS! And not only that, but he would be responsible for handing the title right back to the despicable, misogynistic, do anything for a win that some would say is "past his prime" Joe Jones. That very same man that, alongside Pendragon, Stephen Callaway fought alongside to wrest the title away from and undo the work of The Upper Class as they virtually gift wrapped the title to in a display of their own egos in running the Whirlwind.
In two months, Stephen Callaway looks to build his own legacy as the IWC. Callaway refuses to be a foot note to all the Joe Jones of the world. Joe Jones will look to reclaim the title he believes to be his own personal property, and he doesn't care who he has to go through to do just that! On July 29th, we will see who has that drive to succeed and usher in the new era of Whirlwind Wrestling!
This will be the fateful hour indeed...
